Description of service
My experience with Reflexology was as follows. It was a 1 hour service. the first 30 minutes was directly related to work on the reflexes of my feet using reflexology boot machine which stimulated all the reflex points in the feet at one time. Then the therapist performed a certain reflexology massaging protocol on my feet working specific reflexes with specific pressures and maneuvers. The last half was spent using reflexology but along the meridians that end in the feet. So I got reflexology work and meridian work done on my feet.My therapist charged $35 for the entire consultation and work. I tipped her $10 because she was extremely thorough and she did a wonderful job. If she hadn't done a good job, I wouldn't have tipped.
Review of Service
I had a fantastic experience. My therapist was specifically qualified in reflexology (and meridian work in the feet). She was very knowledgeable and particular with the work she was doing. It didn't feel like a generic foot rub that I was receiving. throughout the treatment she would inform me on what she was seeing and what she was feeling on my feet. the service I received was absolutely worth every cent I paid. I left there being educated more on my own body. In my opinion, what I paid was definitely worth the service I received and I've received a lot of different body massages and body work in my life.
Tips
Advise I'd give to someone receiving this service would be to make sure the person you are going to see has been very educated in reflexology. They didn't just do an overnight course in it but have been thoroughly educated in the field. There is definitely a difference between someone who is knowledgeable about reflexology as apposed to someone who is not. Ask them what they know about it and how much they have studies the modality. Rather ask questions than be disappointing after receiving the service and having to pay for it. What would be good to know about receiving reflexology is exactly what reflexology work is. Research it and know what it is before getting it done because you may be expecting a completely different experience and become very disappointed. Reflexology is work done on the feet and no other part of your body. It's not a form of a full body massage. It only works the reflex points in the feet that directly correlate with certain organs and parts in your body.
