the Price of Reflexology

My wife wanted to try something fun as a couple, and as we had both enjoyed massages in the past, we decided to try a place nearby that offered reflexology. The 50 minute session was conducted in a private treatment room, with relaxing 'spa type' music playing in the background, and scented candles burning nearby. During the session, the massage therapist applied pressure to various pressure points in my feet and hands in order to relieve certain tensions she detected in my body.

I have decided that I prefer a traditional massage by far, maybe it is because I feel weirdly about my feet, or the person was not very skilled, but I did not find the experience either enjoying or relaxing. For all I know, the therapist was hitting the pressure points wrong because I only tensed up. The staff was very personable, however, and apologetic that I was not able to be made to relax. I would have also preferred if I had a choice in candle or music.

If you are squeamish about your feet, this might not be the massage that is right for you. However, it is reasonably priced, so it might be a good way to get your feet wet, so to speak, in entering the world of massages.
