Description of service
Shared or group personal training for small groups of 2 to 4 people with similar training goals. This is conducted by one or two trainers.
Review of Service
The cost of the personal training was $100 per week. Each week consisted of three hour-long sessions. The nice thing about shared personal training is the lower cost per person when compared to one-on-one training. I have had one-on-one sessions in the past, and frankly, I thought the group training was not only cheaper, but also better. With a group, there is motivation to do better than the other guy / gal and this keeps you on your toes. We bonded really well, and shared information about where to find supplements etc. This might not be for everybody - but for someone who's been training for a while, switching to group / shared personal training might be a good cheaper alternative.
Tips
1. Always, always get the terms of your personal training in writing. these guys will try and cancel your appointments if the remaining members of your group don't show up - but remember, on the days that you don't show up, you lose your session - so always get these matters in writing.
2. Go over the wording of your contract carefully. If possible, try to not have a contract. A contract is cheaper, but it's really hard to get out of one if your work / priorities have changed.
3. Make sure your peers have the same goals and are at the same level as you. If you're matched with someone with far more or far lesser experience than you, it might not work out well
