Description of service
The trainer worked for a small, independent gym and, as part of their promotion to entice people to join their gym, they had a special for two people to come in and get some advice and training for $100 with the option to begin a membership plan and get a $25 credit for each of the two participants.
Review of Service
I had always wondered what it would be like to have a personal trainer, so I was eager (and a bit apprehensive) to try this out. As it was, the training sessions were more of a group approach, rather than one-on-one. Rather than just assisting me and my buddy, the trainer also had scheduled 2 other twosomes for the same time. The advice we got was geared to the average person in the group, which was still better than the average gym goer (who, needless to say, is far more toned and in shape than me) but not by much. There was however, a quick ten minute question and answer session at the end of our appointment where we could seek more specialized information.
Tips
Find out ahead of time if it will be a very small and informal group or if there will be larger groups comprised of several small groups. It may be more beneficial for you to pay the extra for strict one-on-one advice.
