the Price of a Smog Check

In order to keep my car under the prescribed emission standards, i periodically take my car for various check ups. This time it was the smog check. I had to get my car serviced and i decided to get the smog check done alongwith. I had to pay an extra $45 towards smog check. I had visited a company owned showroom to get the service.

I am of the view that the service i got was quite ok but it would have been better if i was not charged $45 for the service. I mean that i should have been charged a little less. Other than that, everything about the service was worth praising. The check was done within virtually no time. Finally my car had cleared the smog test and i was allowed to run it on the roads.

If you have have to get the smog test done, prefer any local station or a garage as the showroom people and exclusive company authorized service stations charge quite a bit for the same service which you could have availed for a lot less at any local garage. Moreover, it is always better if you take a prior appointment as then you need not require wasting time in the queue.
