Description of service
As part of New York State's vehicle inspection requirements, most automobiles must pass an emissions inspection, similar to a smog test, in order to ensure that the car is not overly polluting the environment with its emissions. It was $11 in addition to the $10 vehicle inspection fee, which is also required. It covers the emissions test, and the labor to perform the test. It can be done relatively quickly, in most cases under an hour.
Review of Service
I get all of my automotive work done for all of my cars at the same garage. I made an appointment for the inspection and emissions test about a week before I wanted it done. I went first thing in the morning to the garage and decided to wait instead of just dropping it off. The place opened at 7 am and my car was in a bay by 7:15. I was out of there by 8:15 with no problems, and the speedy and dedicated service I am used to receiving from this establishment.
Tips
Be sure to make an appointment, otherwise there may be a very long wait. Also, try to use the same garage for all of your work, they will thank you for it and treat you better, providing faster service, because of it.
