Description of service
These were early childhood music classes. The children focused on basics of music, not on learning to play a specific instrument.
Review of Service
These early childhood music lessons were wonderful. It's hard to gauge if they actually helped my son become more musically aware yet, but the theory is that early exposure to specific musical concepts can greatly improve a child's musical success later.
The classes were for 2-6 year olds, and broken up into three age ranges so the kids were only in groups with their peers. We were in classes with 12 kids, and classes that had only four. There classes were held once a week for 6 weeks, and this is the price I'm quoting.
My son had so much fun at music class. Each and every instructor had a college degree, and many had more than one. There were elementary school music teachers, PhD students, and even a few music profs in the mix. The bottom line: these people knew music, and they knew kids.
Tips
These are not classes that parents drop kids off at, and then wait in the lobby! If you sign your child up for music class, be prepared to be a full participant. You will be jumping, hopping on one foot, dancing, and singing with the children! This is fun for some, but if you're shy or have a disability, you may want to arrange for someone else to take your child. Sitting on the sidelines is not an option.
