Description of service
I am currently taking sitar lessons. I pay $50 per hour long class. I take my classes from an individual who teaches from her home. She uses a series of popular self-teaching books on the sitar.
Review of Service
I actually don't like my teacher very much. She is a very good sitar player but not a very good teacher. She has a book that she teaches out of and she is very rigid in following it. Even when I haven't quite gotten the last lesson down, she will insist on moving forward. I'd prefer it if we could go over things a little more.
I think she might be better suited for a student who is a little more advanced and needs her expertise more than I do. As a beginner, I don't really need someone with quite so much experience who seems so bored and unchallenged by teaching me. Unfortunately there isn't anyone else in the area who can teach the sitar for the price I am currently paying so I'm sticking it through.
Tips
Make sure your instructor is willing to teach your lessons at your own pace and will be flexible if you don't move quite as fast as they'd like you to.
