the Price of Music Lessons

As a birthday present to myself, I decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of learning how to play the saxophone, rented a sax from my local music store, and found a tutor online. The lessons consisted of ten weekly 45 minute lessons. During the lessons, the instructor did a good job of teaching the fundamentals of playing the saxophone, including the proper grip, and how to play the scale. By the end of the lessons, I was able to read sheet music, translate it into the proper finger positions on the sax, and play basic songs.

While I will never be a jazz legend, the instructor did a good job of encouraging me to explore my love of jazz music, and to play for my own pleasure, if nothing else. The instructor set a good pace, and was able to adjust his lessons to a more mature level, as most of his students are children. The instructor always does a good job of starting on time, and providing relevant music for what we learned for me to practice during the week.

Be sure to only pay for lessons if you have the time to commit to it, as well as practice during the week. Most instructors require payment in advance with no refunds.
