Description of service
One of my sons will be eligible to join the school band next year, and wanted to explore learning either the bass or drums. I told him that I would be glad to pay for him lessons, but he had to continue them for a month and he had to let me know afterwards if he wanted to try out for the school band (we would get a discount on renting an instrument after taking lessons from the music supply store). The $50 was the weekly price for lessons, with two one hour lessons per week.
Review of Service
The owner of the music store was the instructor and was very laid back. He had no problem with my son beginning on one instrument and then switching to another. He did, in fact, suggest that perhaps my son should also explore a couple of other musical options before deciding on just one.
The lessons were one on one, so I know my son received the attention he needed. His instructor was able to tie together how even the simplest lessons contributed to some awesome sounding music.
Tips
If there are any music instrument or supply companies in your area, see if they offer any type of lessons. These places generally offer a discount on rented or purchased instruments if you take lessons from them, as well.
