The sign-up fee included the cost of a uniform as well as paying for equipment and the use of the field. There were no additional required fees, however donations were always welcome and accepted. They also welcomed volunteers to help the coaches, drive the kids to games, and so on.
Review of Service
The sign-up fee is a much bemoaned but necessary part of Little League. It helps pay for equipment and uniforms and upkeep of the fields. This is a very fair price for a Little League registration fee. The uniforms were excellent and the fields always looked great. It's nice to be able to cheer for the kids while they have fun playing baseball!
Tips
If you live in a big city there are probably numerous Little League teams. Check around for sign-up fees and prices, and make sure that you are absolutely clear on what the sign-up fee provides [for example, some teams do not provide a uniform, it must be purchased separately]. Also consider volunteering your time with your child's team-this will help keep the fees lower in the future. Many teams rely heavily on parental volunteers to help the coaches, drive the team to games, and provide snacks and water.
