Description of service
This was the first year that my son, a baseball fanatic, was old enough to participate in the Rookie League of the local little league. The fee covers registration, uniform fee, and all of the practices. There were two hour long practices a week, as well as 1 game per week. The entire season is going to last about 10 weeks, and end with a festival at a local park.
Review of Service
The coach does a good job balancing the fact that these are young children, and encouraging them to have fun, while at the same time teaching and reinforcing the fundamentals of the game of baseball. They also did a good job ensuring that so far everyone gets a good amount of playing time, and not feeling left out.
Tips
Remember that the registration fee is often not the final cost of little league. There is a separate mandatory fee to be collected later to help pay for the cost of the umpires during the game. Additionally, you have to provide some of the children's equipment, such as a baseball glove, bat, cleats, and cup. The batting helmets are included. Do your best to find a team where the practice schedule does not conflict with other obligations.
