Description of service
A Little League Baseball Team provides you with a team to practice with and play on. They take care of the practice fields and team equipment, like bats, balls, bases. They provide umpires at every game. These are paid, trained umpires that are impartial, not dads from the teams. They provide a uniform for games (which you turn back in at the end) and hats (which you keep). This year the fee also included the end of the year trophy and a team photo. They do not provide mitts, or cleats, and at the older ages some kids have their own bats. The coaches are volunteers and most of the other people that keep the league working are volunteers. Some years there are fundraisers to help raise money for field upkeep and such.
Review of Service
This is a really great organization that teaches kids about the game and sportsmanship of baseball. The coaches do a good job, for volunteers. There is some training for them as well, prior to the season. Kids get to play 2-3 games per week once the season starts, so it can be quite a lot of games, which is fun for the kids, but something to keep in mind for the rest of the family. It is a long and busy season. Each year we have seen the kids learn more and develop their skills, so that is the key for us.
Tips
Some years we have had sponsors for the team, which has taken a load off for the parents. That can be a real bonus for the business as well as the team.
