Description of service
This is the kind of community team where the kids sign up, and the teams are formed from all the kids that sign up. Everyone that signs up and pays on time, gets put on a team. The coaches are volunteer dads mostly and they do their best to put together practices that teach the safety and skills important in this sport. They try to get a few dads helping so they can really keep an eye on all that is going on. They practice for a few weeks and then when games start they play one each week. The uniform is included, but most of the kids bring their own pads and helmets.
Review of Service
Youth Football is a great way for your son to get a feel for the sport before starting on a school team. It is a decent value for the level of conditioning and field experience they receive. The coaching just depends on who you get, some are much better than others. That's just the way it is with volunteer dads as coaches. They do have some coaching clinics to try to get all the teams going in the right direction.
Tips
You will probably have to sign up for sports insurance to participate - unless your medical insurance is very good. This is a minimal expense, and given the possible injuries, very worth it.
