Description of service
The service included the installation of two new, moderately priced tires, and their alignment on the car. The tires cost $60 each with tax, for a total tire price of $120. The alignment of the two new tires was an additional $20, bringing the total cost to $140.
Review of Service
It took about an hour to wait my turn for the tires to be installed. The actual tire installation and subsequent alignment took about half an hour.
Tips
If you are getting a replacement tire under warranty, such as a replacement for a flat tire while it is still under the 90 day warranty, many tire suppliers will offer the tire and alignment for free.
There are tire dealers who offer free alignment with the purchase of one very expensive tire or two moderately high priced tires. Most dealers offer free alignment if you replace all four tires with brand new ones, and many will offer free alignment if you have four used or cheap tires.
Never buy more tires than you actually need to get an alignment - an alignment by itself is only $20-50.
The alignment is not always necessary unless the other tires are creating an uneven pull for the car.
