the Price of a Pediatrician

A couple months ago, I paid $600 for my daughter's physical with her pediatrician. This price included her time spent with the nurse being weighed, measured, her blood pressure taken, etc. It also included her time with the pediatrician being examined and an updated tetanus shot at the end of the visit.

I absolutely love my kids' pediatrician. We have been taking them to her since they were babies. The office is such a bright, friendly place and the staff is amazing. The receptionist and nurses know my kids and me by name and always remember things about the kids' lives. The doctor is just as personable. Both the doctor and nurse are gentle and take the time to explain what the different tools do. They are so patient with the kids especially when it comes to the shots! Also important, they are great at making appointments around our schedule, which as a working mom is beyond helpful.

Take the time to find the pediatrician that is right for your family. Chances are this person will be in your family's life for many years, so be patient in making the right choice. Be comfortable asking questions and don't feel bad about doing so! As my pediatrician always says, "that's what we are here for!"
