Description of service
Well child check, but I have also seen this doctor for development check, immunizations, routine exams, emergency visits for a sick child, referrals, consultations.
Review of Service
The service is okay. The insurance plan I have requires I go to one of their specific clinics to see a specific doctor. I like my son's pediatrician well enough, but I sometimes feel rushed when I am there, and I am not always certain he considers everything I say about my son. He was there for a recent checkup, and he is very small and keeps dropping on the growth charts. I have been concerned about it for some time, and my nephews, though much larger at the same age and developing faster physically, were sent to see a specialist. I am worried he is missing something. I am considering getting a second opinion from another pediatrician within the network of doctors at the clinic, but worry about stepping on toes. I don't want to seem like a crazy, paranoid mother, though that seems to be exactly what I am.
Tips
Ask around a lot when it comes to choosing a pediatrician, and don't feel like you have to settle. Meet with them before selecting a primary care doctor for your child. I had a pediatrician for my oldest son who I adore, and I wish my insurance would let me see that pediatrician still for the sake of my children. Make sure you are comfortable enough with your insurance plan that you have the flexibility to change doctors if your gut is telling you to.
