We took our son to get his shots before he started kindergarten. He was given 5 shots and our co-pay was $85.00.
Review of Service
All in all, this was not a good experience. We have a pediatrician that we like very much. However, he happened to be out of town when we realized we hadn't yet had our son vaccinated. We ended up making an appointment with a one of the other pediatricians in his office.
We assumed he'd look over our sons chart and be familiar with his medical history before seeing him. Unfortunately, he didn't do that and he also acted very rushed and basically sped us through our explanation of his medical past. This did not make us feel confident that he was being diligent.
He gave him a few shots and gave us short answers when we asked about what, specifically, our son was being vaccinated against. When we had questions after he was done, he told us to ask his nurse. I realize he was busy but the whole thing left a sour feeling in our mouth.
Tips
Be sure to wait to get a doctor you feel comfortable with and who will take the time to answer any questions you have about the vaccinations.
