Description of service
I took a 6 week class that incorporated arts and crafts into a group therapy session. The cost of 6 1 hour classes was $115.
Review of Service
When I signed up for this class I was certainly more interested in the therapy aspect than the arts and crafts aspect. However, I was really surprised to learn that the arts and craft instruction was extremely through and taken very seriously.
The way it worked was that every week we would make something different. We'd get instructions and get to work. Then our teacher would casually bring up the therapy topic for the week. Talking casually to each other while working made it a lot easier to talk and to open up.
While we were there we learned several really useful crafting skills. I didn't even realize I was interested in crafting until this class but now I'm definitely into it and will continue to do it for awhile. I just hope the next straight up craft class I take I don't end up talking like it's therapy!
Tips
Crafting can help with a lot of issues. It can be good exercise for those with hand problems, it can relieve stress and it can help you to open up with others as well.
