Description of service
Four introductory woodcarving classes for two hundred dollars ($200) with each lesson lasting two (2) hours. That made it fifty dollars ($50) per class and only twenty-five dollars ($25) per hour for the intro classes. The instructor provided all of the materials (wood, carving knives, etc.) at no extra charge. He also prepares each piece of wood in advance of the class. The intro course consists of three projects which mainly are intended to teach the basics and control. You will probably only end up witb one piece worthy of showing your friends but one piece after only eight (8) hours in a new and difficult hobby is not bad!
Review of Service
Excellent classes, price not bad when you do the division, the only negative was the teacher/owner's persistence in trying to get you to commit to additional classes. The teacher is an art school graduate who is also a very active woodcarver. He has private clients ordering special work from him as well as buying his already made pieces. He taught with precision but also patience and humor.
Tips
Do your research - online is probably easiest. Get a professional teacher who is art school trained or can prove experience both artistically and with teaching. I fell into this by accident and love it.
