Description of service
I have recently gotten into knitting. After visiting a craft fair, I discovered that you could knit with wool and then turn it into felt, basically. I found out about this class and decided to take it. The $50.00 included the class fee and all the supplies to make a little felt monster. You knitted it in the class and then were taught what you needed to do at home to get the felting affect (wash it basically). The class lasted 2 hours and was taught by two teachers.
Review of Service
This was a really great class. I got to do some knitting with wool for the first time (I had only used cotton to this point) and got to do something sort of nutty with it (make a monster!). I made a solid purple monster with blue/green eyes. All the colors were a bit muted, as the wool they provided was naturally dyed. My monster was about 6 inches tall before I washed him. He is now more like 4 inches tall but all fuzzy and fun. I know I will felt again for sure. I have already bought myself some wool for home!
Tips
Know that you are not going to have the finished product at the class. You have to wash the wool creations to get the felted finish. Have fun with this. You can make bags and cozies and toys etc. You also can't really mess this up. If you drop a stitch or anything, once its felted you can hardly tell, so its great for beginner knitters like me!
