Description of service
I enrolled in a class that taught how to use copper in creating an art project. The class was six weeks and we met once a week at a Community College. The cost of the class was $125 and the materials cost approximately $100 for a total of $225.00.
Review of Service
There was a limit of eight students to the class, which provided time for the instructor to give each person some individual instructions. Each session had a 20 to 30 minute lecture on techniques, materials, finishes, size relationships, etc. We would then be able to work on our individual creations.
The instructor was very well versed in the many techniques available to working with copper and was more than willing to share his knowledge wth us. He also made "suggestions" as we reached a critical section of our projects. It was a friendly atmosphere for learning.
Everyone in the class was able to finish at least one project.
I did not observe any negative feelings in the class and feel it was well worth the time and money.
Tips
Before signing up for a class, be sure you are available to attend on the designated nights. If you are assigned to work on a project at home prior to the next meeting, do it. You are there for fun and to learn a new craft for your own enjoyment. Put some effort and imagination into the project. Be friendly but not intrusive in class.
Make sure that you understand the total costs involved before signing up for the class.
