Description of service
I took one month of Arts and Crafts classes at the local community college. They went over a variety of activities, and met twice a week in the evenings. This was a continuing education class, so it wasn't for college credit. Anyone in the community can take these classes.
Review of Service
I took the Arts and Crafts classes offered as a continuing education class at the local community college. The classes met twice a week in the evenings, and lasted around a month. The classes offered a variety of crafts, such as leaf etchings, linoleum block prints, watercoloring, and basic weaving. These classes weren't so much to teach you an exact skill, but to stimulate your creativity and give you something to do with your hands in a group setting. The cost of the class paid for supplies, but you were also encouraged to bring things from home. The classes were fun and the instructor was nice. Since the classes could be taken by anyone, there was a wide variety of people in the class from college aged students to older "grandparent" types. The teacher was nice and worked with everyone on the same level.
Tips
Check out your local community college in order to see what classes are offered. There may also be cheaper classes offered at community centers or libraries if you can't afford the continuing education ones.
