We had the rear right hand side of our bumper repaired after backing into a phone pole. The auto body shop used a process where they heated the bumper up, and "massaged" out the dented area. They then needed to repaint the bumper for a smooth look.
Review of Service
The service saved us at least 500 dollars compared with the estimated cost of having the car bumper replaced. They provided an accurate estimate, quick service and good communication through out the repair process. The dent was pretty significant and we were surprised to not need complete replacement. This was not a small dent so we were impressed that they offered alternatives. This required some special equipment on their part, but took less time than ordering a new bumper.
Tips
I would suggest that anyone in need of a bumper repair, ask your autobody shop about alternatives to complete bumper replacement. Shop around for the best estimate and be sure that they are communicating with you about any changes that occur to your estimate along the way. Repair shops should be able to give very accurate estimates for both the time and cost of the repair.
