Description of service
We paid to have the rear bumper repaired, but not replaced. I had gently bumped into a phone pole while parking and the dent was a giant rush on the corner.
I was told they heated up the bumper and "massaged" out the large dent. This saved us the expense of having to buy a replacement bumper to then be repainted. I They applied a "modified refinish with full clear coat". They added some tint color and overspray. It was like magic. If we had the bumper replaced it would have cost about $500 more.
Review of Service
We used this auto body shop for the second time because we had a such a good experience when we had an accident that our insurance paid for. They were proactive in finding less expensive approaches to fixing the bumper and other areas that needed attention. I really appreciated that they were creative in recommending repair solutions instead of just recommending a new bumper, which they could have easily done for us.
They were quick and communicative. They were polite and took the time to answer all of our questions.
Tips
Well, you should first off find someplace you trust. Ask a friend or even call your insurance company. I have a really hard time trusting auto folks since I don't understand half of what they say and I feel they are like surgeons in that you have to pay them no matter what, and hardly know what kind of results you are likely to get.
Ask for alternative solutions for your bumper repair - it may not be necessary to completely replace your bumper. Our dent was pretty bad and they fixed it perfectly without replacing the whole thing.
