Description of service
We saw an advertisement in the local paper about the fall train ride that Lebanon offers and last year decided to go. The price included admission for two adults. The ride included about 2.5 hours of fun. The train ride is 45 minutes one way. Once at your destination, a working farm, you are allowed off the train to pet/meet farm animals, pick out a pumpkin pie already made to take home, and wonder through a corn maze. They also had a brand new, just opened gift shop with a lot of cute stuff to buy. You are on the farm for an hour and then you take the return train ride back.
Review of Service
This was a lot of fun. I have to say that I probably would not do it again. This is because there were just so many children that it was not very enjoyable for a childless couple. It was just so noisy. The train ride was a lot of fun and really pretty scenery was along the route. It was also fun to get to the destination and just hang out on the farm. I did feel a bit rushed though, as an hour is not very long to stay somewhere like that. The pie was pretty good though!
Tips
I would definitely recommend this trip to families with children, especially young children. I would not recommend this to couples though, unless you really like kids. They only offer the tours on the weekends too, so there is not an opportunity to avoid crowds or kids. Its pretty much a sell-out every weekend from what I understand too, so get your tickets early. You can order them online now, so that is good. Definitely take a camera and be sure to use the restrooms before boarding the train both times, as the train does not have any facilities. The train is also not handicapped accessible (built in 1930s), not heated (dress warmly if its cool out), and the tickets are non-refundable (they go rain or shine). Keep all of this in mind and have fun!
