Description of service
I arranged for my mother-in-law, my wife, and I to take a wine train tour through the beautiful Napa Valley. My wife and her mother have birthdays three days apart. We thought this would make for a nice trip. My mother-in-law's passion is wine tasting and wine making.
Several different packages are available. The packages vary in price naturally. Our package included a three hour evening train ride with dinner. The menu is not very diverse, but there was something for everyone.
Review of Service
The train is a fully restored passenger train. I don't care very much for wine and I'm not exactly a "foody." My wife and her mother are admitted food snobs and my mother-in-law knows more about wine than anyone I have ever met. I enjoyed the train. They enjoyed the food and the wine.
The only bad thing about the whole evening was we couldn't see out of the dining car.
Tips
The evening train ride was nice, but I would have liked to have actually seen the beautiful vineyards we were going through. I would like to do this again some time, but take advantage of their lunch time tours. I am certain the views from the train are amazing.
