the Price of a Train Tour

My husband, son, and I took a scenic train ride. It also included a guided historical commentary of the different historical facts of the line. The train also had a club car where you could get snacks. There was a 45 min stop at the end to rest and enjoy the river.

The staff on the train was absolutely wonderful. Very kind and polite. The train itself was very well kept and clean. The route had beautiful scenery and interesting tells to go with it. I liked the open car, with its clean fresh air and the fact that you could look out and see everything right in front of your feet. It was a little pricey though in my opinion. There were no additional items that were included in the price other than the train ride. I thought that for 25.00 a head ( including a 3 year old) that we would at least get a cup of juice or something. But it was enjoyable and relaxing.

My advice for anyone planning a train ride for enjoyment would be pack light. The less you take with you, the less you will have to contend with. Also, be sure to check in advance for schedules. Having a good idea of how long you will be on the train, at a rest, then on the return will help you greatly when you are traveling with children. Take sunscreen with you. There are some that can be bought that have a neat keychain added to it for easy handling. Also, find out what the area you will be stopping in will be like. Ours had a wonderful creek that you could wade out into, but we were unaware of this and didn't pack our swimsuits.
