Description of service
This included tickets for 4 adults and 1 kids. The ride went from Branson, MO to a bridge south of town (approximately 50 miles). The cars were open seating and every other car had an observation deck for better viewing of the territory. The trip included travel through two tunnels and across a bridge traversing a lake.
Review of Service
With my wife being a huge rail fan the trip would have been worth it, if it had cost twice the price. The scenery was absolutely outstanding and there were enough seats so that she got to sit on the observation deck of the last car, which meant she got to see everything through the observation window (on top of the car). The porters were very informative and friendly and the onboard food (dining car - snacks only) was about the same as going to the movies. The trip lasted about two hours and the family enjoyed it more than anything else we did on the entire vacation. The cars could have been redone (just a little - very little), as they had the original fixtures and furnitings and it was explained that extreme care was given to recreate perfectly what they had looked like in their prime.
Tips
If you plan to take a trip like this, call ahead and find out about getting travel times and tickets in advance. However, standing in line at an original depot definately made the trip authentic.
