Description of service
This was for a Microsoft SQL 2005 class for people learning to be database administrators. It was a 5 day class that ran from 8-5, Monday through Friday.
Review of Service
The instructor was a Microsoft Certified Database Administrator which means he has passed all of the exams to work and teach the Microsoft class that I took with 11 other students. Each of us had a computer to work with as the instructor guided us through a thick manual with instructions on how to build the MS SQL database from scratch. Once the database was built, our instructor took us through the process of implementing security and accessibility. We were also instructed on how to create views and how to use stored procedures in the database. The instructor was well versed in the topic and kept the class moving at a comfortable pace. It helped that most of us were at the same level of expertise when it came to computers.
Tips
By the third or fourth day of class, my head was spinning because of all of the information that was being taught. It is a lot to cram into a 5 day class, but that is typically how this type of advanced class is taught. What helped me after I was done on Friday was to let the weekend go and not worry about the class. The following Monday, I picked up my manual and started to review the information that I was taught. It was very helpful to me to have my instructor's email address so I could also ask follow-up questions.
