Description of service
Took a very affordable class in computer programming. The prices are really low because the state subsidizes this place so people can be trained for new careers or they can take classes to improve their job skills. In my case, I took the class to improve my job skills and the best part was my company paid for the class. The class also included a text book which could have very easily gone for $40. The classes were held twice a week during the evenings. So I'd leave my job and head right to class on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Review of Service
The class was really well taught. The guy who taught the class was a full time programmer for a company in town. Now, it's pretty rare to find a computer person who has good teaching skills, especially a programmer, but this guy was very personable and very patient. What was really great about the class was our instructor sharing his professional experience with us. The book might have us do some programming one way, but then our instructor would show us how he might have handled a specific programming task. I was very fortunate to find a really good instructor and terrific class for such a low price, especially for something that is in the computer field.
Tips
For a programming class, at least have some computer experience. There was one student in the class who lasted maybe two class sessions and was just floundering.
