I took an online class to improve my skills and add another higher certification to my credentials in the drafting field. The cost of the class was just for the class itself and it did not include the testing fee for the actual certification which cost an additional $200.00 per section. This was more of a test prep class than anything else. The class was administered online and you were able to complete the course work at any time during the week, but it was required that a set amount of material was covered weekly for 3 weeks. You could not work ahead into the next weeks material.

This class was very thorough and I would take the next class in the series to get to the next level of certification. I liked the online nature of the instruction and the flexibility to complete the information on my own timetable. I would love to see the ability to work ahead and not have the weekly stops in place, but I guess they have that for a reason. I was well prepared for the certification test and completed it for the certification that I desired, so that was a big success. The online customer service was timely and I usually got a response within 24 hours, so that was excellent.

Shop around. I saw a very similar course to the one I ended up choosing that cost over $100 more for the same information. Always double check what is included in the fee, some classes include the testing fee, and some do not.
