Description of service
I work as an adjuster and for this job, I have to know how to properly write an estimate. This training was for learning how to write an estimate of repair for a damaged area of the home. This was a five day course. eight hours per day and would cover almost any type of damage which would happen to a home. Such as fire, water, wind and vandalism to name a few. The class also taught the difference in quality of materials like carpet or hardwood floors. And of course the estimated costs. I think the best part was the hands-on training. There was an actual 1400 square foot home built inside the school to get some hands on experience. They would actually set part of it on fire or let water overflow to purposely cause damage for me to determine costs of damages. There was so much training that my brain hurt after each day. But definitely needed.
Review of Service
The amount of information was so much to take in, but the difference was that the instructor was so good, that every bit stuck in my head. I originally felt that the cost of this five day course was too much, but the fact that they caused damages to their property to train me, explained a lot. And I am grateful as because of the type of training I received, I was able to retain so much that I actually made a 98 score on the final exam. I also made 100's on the daily exams! This is excellent considering I freeze up and go blank when there is a test. The instructor had made the class fun and exciting to be in and made learning so much easier. Now I know why it cost me so much money. Because they know how to teach!
Tips
There are career classes that are cheap, but like you have heard in the past, "you get what you pay for". That is no joke. Even though I spent over a thousand dollars, what I gained in knowledge is worth more.
