I received excellent service when the brakes were replaced on my Jag. I was surprised at how much it cost at first, thinking I only needed rear brake pads. Of course I was surprised when I needed a complete brake job, and the cost was very high. Jaguar pads are evidently very expensive to replace, and I found out the hard way! I was promised a turn-around time of about two hours--I ended up waiting almost six. It wasn't for lack of trying to repair my vehicle, however. It was more difficult than the mechanic imagined, having never worked on a Jaguar before. The brake system didn't go together the same way other cars did, which made it difficult to get the calibers back in place after replacing rotors and pads. Because of the inconvenience, I was not charged labor, so I was able to save a little bit of money on that front.

Get a lot of price quotes, and if somebody seems to be giving you the run-around on the phone before you even go in, don't bother. A standard brake job should have a standard price, and if somebody is telling you on the phone they won't know anything until they check brake fluid levels, etc., they are going to try to take you for all you have, and probably do a shoddy job at best.
