Description of service
I had to have two dents removed from my hood about the size of a quarter each, put there by a tire iron. Someone was apparently mad at me and used the round end that you use to turn the lug nut to hit my hood.. I paid for the two dents to be removed, and painted. This took 3 days, so I also was without a vehicle for the 3 days. It cost $247 for the dent removal and $200 for the sanding and painting of the hood, outrageous.
Review of Service
When I went for quotes I was told by many auto body repair shops that it might be cheaper to buy a new hood. I decided after searching all over to try and find a hood that matched the color of my car, that I would just go back to the cheapest auto body repair center and have them do it. I was not happy when my car was supposed to be done the next day and they call to tell me that I would have to wait another 2 days because the paint that they had was not a match, so they would have to order paint, which would take 24 hours to get and another 24 hours before I could pick up my vehicle. When I finally was able to pick up my vehicle, I pointed out to them that one of the dents was still a little visible and that the paint still was not an exact match. They refused to knock any amount off of the cost and were rude when I told them that they didn't do their job right.
Tips
Search, search and research before deciding what auto body center to have service your car.Ask for references. When dealing with painting or touching up your vehicle, request to see the paint dried, before it is applied to your vehicle.
