Description of service
This side mirror was knocked off our vehicle when a relative sideswiped a tree with our truck. A body shop, during a slow work period for them, came out and replaced the mirror for us while I was at work.
Review of Service
The side mirror that replaced the one knocked off came from a junkyard vehicle. It was still in good shape. Luckily, our side mirror were not electric, or it would've cost more and we wouldn't have been able to have it done on location. We would've had to have left it at the body shop.
Tips
For a side mirror you can take your vehicle to a glass repair place, a body shop, or a general repair shop. In most cases you will have to leave your vehicle. If you truly want to save some money and don't mind if your mirrors don't exactly match (maybe one side has squared edges and a possible replacement will be rounded), then by all means let them know you don't have a problem with junkyard parts in good shape. If you have more than one thing to be done, see if you can get them all done at once and perhaps save a little extra money.
