Description of service
It cost $282.00 to replace the air conditioner panel and front shocks on a 1994 Chevy Avalanche. The cost of labor was $85.00, the cost of new shocks were $52.00, and the cost of a new AC panel was $125.00.
Review of Service
I found a 2004 Avalanche that needed a some work done to it. The car drove a little rough, but it was a good price. I bought it so that I could fix it and resell it later. The AC control panel was missing, so that had to replaced. The car also had a thumping noise and was bumpy on rough roads. I took it to two different mechanics to get opinions and estimates. After test driving the car, both mechanics thought that replacing the front struts would solve the problem. I chose the mechanic that gave the better estimate. He ordered the parts and fixed the car within two days. The noise is gone and the car is so much smoother. By comparing the prices of two mechanics, I was able to save about $75.00. So, I am happy with the price.
Tips
If you need some work done on your car, have it inspected by at least two or three different mechanics and get estimates. That will insure that you are getting the best price.
