Description of service
I had my front bumper replaced on my Trailblazer after I hit a parked car in my church parking lot (oops!). The entire bumper had to be replaced, as it was pulled away from the car about one-third of the way down, and the bumper itself was cracked.
Review of Service
The service I got from my local repair shop was awesome! They fit me in quickly, as I planned to drive my car on my upcoming vacation. I dropped the car off on Tuesday and it was ready on Thursday morning. The repairs look great, and if I didn't know better I would never realize the car had been damaged.
Tips
Definitely ask them to use a reconditioned bumper if you want to save money. The bumper itself only cost $288.00 because it was ordered from a place that remanufactures them. It is still guaranteed by the manufacturer, and honestly, I don't know how anyone could tell the difference between it and a brand new one.
The labor cost was $42.00 per hour at 5 hours for replacing and painting the bumper ($210.00)
They charged me $28.00 per hour at 5 hours for "paint supplies" ($140.00)
Plus the bumper ($288.00)
For a total of $638.00 before taxes
Honestly, I did not compare prices, as this shop is local in a very small town and I am familiar with the guy's reputation for fairness and quality work.
I will say the insurance adjuster quoted over $900.00 for the same reapirs, so I believe my guy's prices were reasonable.
