Description of service
There was water dripping from underneath of the car. We looked underneath it and followed it up. All of the water was coming directly from the water pump. We called around to find out how much a water pump was going to cost, and it was only $50.00, without a core charge, and with a lifetime warranty. We went ahead and purchased the part from the local auto parts store. After that we called our mechanic to see how much he would charge us to put the part on, and he quoted us a price for $110.00 plus an hour and half in time.
Review of Service
Our mechanic told us to bring it down as soon as we could. We dropped the car off, and went to have lunch, and by the time we came back they were already finished with it. My mechanic warrantied his work, but said we would have to deal with the auto parts store for any part problem. Most mechanic shops won't put on parts that you buy and bring in.
Tips
Go to a mechanic that you trust. If you don't already have one ask around, word of mouth advertising is wonderful. It allows you to get an honest review of a service.
