Description of service
The motor in the drivers side front door burned out about a year after we purchased the car. The motor had to be replaced. We dropped the Equinox off at about eight in the morning for them to repair it. It took most of the day for the work to be completed. The mechanic explained to us that the door panel would have to be removed to replace this part making it an all day job.
Review of Service
The service was alright but very expensive because the car was already out of warranty and had no extended coverage warranty. They were realistic about the timeline and called promptly when they were finished with the work. They tested out the new motor and showed us that it was working properly before we had to pay or left the shop with the car. They also guaranteed their work for a whole year.
Tips
Make sure you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic. With a certified mechanic or a dealership shop they have all the equipment from the manufacturer to diagnose and repair the problem quickly and correctly. Also, if you do still have warranty coverage it can nullify that warranty if just anyone works on your car.
