Description of service
I went to my doctor for an annual follow up on my depression and high blood pressure medication because I was out of refills for the year and due for an exam. The exam consisted of me sitting in the exam room with the doctor for about 20 minutes. We discussed how I was feeling mentally, how my job was going, how my home life was, and how I was feeling physically. She weighed me, took my blood pressure, and discussed her findings with me. She gave me some advice for lowering my blood pressure naturally and also suggested that I add a new drug to my current medications. She gave me scripts for my depression and high blood pressure medications so that I could mail them into my prescription service through my insurance. She also gave me a script to have blood work done (I do this annually due to a high risk of cancer in my family history).
Review of Service
I love my family doctor. She takes her time with you and you never feel rushed. She asks you lots of questions and always takes her time to answer any questions you may have. She has a great bedside manner and is open to homeopathic as well as scientific remedies. On this particular visit, she gave me some rather bad news about significant weight gain and more elevated blood pressure. I was pretty upset and she stayed with me until I calmed down and we talked through everything.
Tips
Definitely visit your family doctor annually. You never know what you may find during a routine exam. Do ask questions. If you are unfortunate enough to have a doctor that is always in a rush, write the questions you have for the doctor down on a piece of paper prior to the exam. Then at the exam, you won't forget what you need to talk to her/him about if you are feeling rushed. You are paying good money to see this person so make them earn it.
