Description of service
This appointment was a follow up appointment for a long term condition I have. First the nurse checked my weight, blood pressure, and body temperature to make sure all were within normal parameters. The doctor came in, discussed my health progression and recommended I get a flu shot, since I'm in the high risk group. He also asked how my family was doing and how my general sense of well-being was, since he knows that I also have depression. Even though I was in there for another condition he took the time to make sure to check that all was well with my other ailments. After the doctor left, the nurse came back in to administer the flu vaccine. I definitely think the cost of the visit is reasonable especially given the quality of care I receive.
Review of Service
I go to the doctor a lot. I have a lot of health issues. My general practitioner is very nice and always treats me with courtesy and respect, even if tests can't always determine what oddities my body persists in throwing at me. The atmosphere at my general practitioner's office is one of warmth and caring. I often have to bring my 4 year old daughter with me to my appointments and the staff there seems to enjoy her being there, not annoyed that a little kid is running around the place. I like that. I feel it's important to feel as comfortable as you can be at a doctor's office, especially if you have to go in there often.
Tips
My big tip for dealing with General Practitioners is to not look only at the price of an office visit. If you can, get other people to talk about their doctor and see if anyone you know goes to a doctor that might be a good fit for you. A General Practitioner is someone you should develop a relationship with, even if you're healthy. A good General Practitioner is a wonderful thing and can be a lifesaver.
