Description of service
I was suddenly sick one day so I just decided to go to my doctor. I do not have insurance so the cost of services can be expensive. I So the doctor decided to order an immune deficiency lab test. This is a simple blood test that tests how strong your immune system is. However for one without insurance it did put a whole in my pocket. That test alone was $245.00. Then there was the $80.00 office fee. Then a $20.00 fee for a urine test.
Review of Service
The lab test was obviously the only fast way at the time to determine if I was no longer fighting off infection. It is pretty simple and quick. I do not understand why it would be $245.00. They must have some pretty good testing materials and/or supplies for it to be that much. In the long run it came back fine yet I am still paying the bill. So the service should be cheaper if you ask me. Also, the doctor did not inform me of the cost of it knowing I do not have insurance. Nor did he tell me it was necessary.
Tips
If you ever need this test done I suggest you talk with your doctor before hand. It can add up. If I knew how much it cost before it was done I would not have done it. Especially because I know my own body and know I just had a bug.
