Description of service
The charge for a first vist to a rheumatology specialist was $198.00, but our insurance company only allowed the doctors office to charge $168.00. The first visit was a consoltation which included a basic check up, a review of all previous lab work, the dotor prescribed medication, and he ordered new lab work. The lab work was done at a different location and was billed seperatley.
Review of Service
My husband was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis by our family physician, so the doctor referred him to a specialist. Even though the physician preferred that my husband go to a specialist in a different city, my husband has a busy schedule and didn't want to have to drive 70 miles for this and future appointments. So he was referred a local rheumatologist. Although the first appointment was expensive, the follow up visits have been reasonble ($70.00 for each visit). My husband has noticed a major improvement since going to the specialist. It also makes it easier to make to appointments when you have a local doctor.
