Description of service
Diagnostic test and replacement of the crankshaft sensor. $69.00 for initial diagnostic test that was applied toward the price of repair. Crankshaft Sensor was initially replaced in 2007 under the Nissan recall but broke again and I had to pay out of pocket. Nissan would not assume responsibility for the crankshaft sensor the second time it broke.
Review of Service
They repaired the crankshaft in a decent amount of time. I dropped the car off in the morning and had it back in the late afternoon. The cleanliness of the car after service was average--grease smudges on the steering wheel and shifter. They put down the paper floor mats but no plastic seat covers. The crankshaft is still working properly. I have not had the car stall or completely shut off all together like it did before it was fixed. Although the actual mechanical work was decent, customer service was less than desirable. They offered a great service shuttle however. I dropped the car off and was ushered home. They called before they picked me up when my car was ready.
Tips
Arrive early for your appointment. They will cram people without appointments in so you may end up waiting longer than expected. Arrive early and make your presence known. The squeaky customer gets the oil if you are waiting for the car there. Drop car off and leave if possible.
Nissan vehicles have a lot of recalls. Double check before you authorize service to see if what is wrong is covered under a recall.
