Description of service
I needed service for my windshield wipers. I thought I had broken the actual wiper itself but as it turned out, I had actually unhooked a wiper from wherever it's linked to its power at the base of the windshield. The wipers made all the appropriate noise they should have, but nothing was happening once I turned them on. When I took it in to the service department it was one of our first snowy days. The service manager had taken one of the loaner vehicles into the service department to let it "warm up" rather than just have it outside, so when I switched to the loaner car to drive to work I didn't have to wait for it to warm up. Since I had the truck already there, I also asked for an oil change. Finally, the rear view window had come off the windshield - I had tried to super glue it back but it fell off again.
Review of Service
Altogether, the service department had three things to do - the wiper repair, the oil change and the mirror - and they got it all done by early afternoon. They called to let me know what the cost was going to be once they had checked everything out, and when I picked up the truck they let me know what other issues I could give some attention to when I had more time (and more budget) to deal with them (replace belts, etc.). It was overall a great car repair experience!
Tips
Be clear about what you want done, even if you're not sure what the terminology might need to be. Ask that you be notified of what the cost is going to be BEFORE the work is done (I told them "I need to know how much of a Federal Reserve loan I'm going to need to get.")
