Review of Service
I felt extremely ripped off by the mechanic. The part for my Liberty was only four dollars, and I was charged almost two hundred dollars for labor. They also had my car for three days. They took their sweet time fixing the problem, and then charged an arm and a leg for the repairs they did. While I haven't had a problem with the air intake system since then, I will never bring my car back to that particular mechanic again because of how they dragged their feet on getting me my car back.
Tips
Bringing a car to a mechanic for anything is almost always a costly venture. It is never as cheap as you think it might be, so be prepared to be shocked at how much repairs will cost when they are required. Ask friends and family if they know anything about cars, and see if one of them can accompany you to the shop so you are not ripped off by a mechanic. Also see if you can find a reputable mechanic through friends and family who won't charge you for any unnecessary repairs.
