Description of service
Had a flat left, rear tire, but hadn't noticed it. While in the shop for another reason, owner of the shop noticed it and asked for my keys. Had a technician put Jeep on rack, remove tire and check for nails, cracks, etc. Found nothing in tire, but rebeaded it and put back on my vehicle within just a few minutes. Did not charge me for service, but I tipped $11 which seemed about the charge to me for changing a tire.
Review of Service
As stated above, the service was not even asked for...the owner just noticed and took action to try to fix and or repair the problem. The shop's technician was more than willing to step in and change what he was doing in order to check the tire. The technician was efficient, careful and friendly. He put plastic on my seat before getting into the Jeep (to keep seats clean) and returned the seat to its original position after he returned the car to be picked up.
Tips
As stated, they didn't charge me for the service. I simply tipped to recognize their awareness and willingness to help for a problem I hadn't even noticed. As this was a franchise, but individually owned business, I appreciated that they didn't try to take advantage as some of the other national chains have tried in the past. I have no doubt that had I taken it elsewhere or had it been noticed by some other repair shops that I would've been charged much more.
