Description of service
The mechanic repaired the brake line, balanced tires, replaced rear rotors, pads and cleaned the hubs. He also did a safety and emissions test.
Review of Service
The service could have been better. The mechanic did all that work and we brought it home expecting it to work well. However, we ended up taking it back because it sounded like there was something worse going on with the brakes than when we brought it in in the first place. At that point, the mechanic found that we needed to replace the right rear caliper and brake hose to the tune of 138 more dollars and change! I am not a mechanic but I feel that if he was working on the rear brakes, he should have caught the second brake problem while working on the brakes the first time. When we brought it back, he was extremely perturbed and acted like we were the problem! He thought we were just being picky until he found the caliper problem. Then he was much more pleasant. When I hire someone to fix a problem in our vehicle, I expect him or her to do it right the first time. And if I do give him or her a second chance to do it right, I would at least like to see a positive attitude.
Tips
I would suggest that a person should always get a second opinion when the work to be done is over $100.00- a second opinion on what needs to be done and an estimate on cost and time involved.
