Description of service
Originally was scheduled as a basic front brake job for my 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix which was estimated to take a few hours at the most. After beginning the brake job it was discovered that what was first assessed a simply replacing the brake pads was not enough; the calipers and discs also needed replaced. Upon completion the mechanic checked and topped off all fluids, used additives to prolong the life of the new brakes (after checking to see if it was alright with me) and returnrd the parts which were under warranty and applied that money to the cost of my final bill. Originally, the bill was $190.00, $90.00 for parts (which were actually covered by the warranty so therefor covered) and $100.00 for labor and the fluids added. So out the door it was only $106.00 [including taxe!) NOT BAD FOR GOOD SERVICE-
Review of Service
To begin, the service was great... being almost the end of the month and car inspections coming due I originally figured it would be almost a week before I could get my vehicle serviced however I called for the appointment Monday and it was taken in Tuesday morning! Very prompt to say the least. In addition the mechanic that did the work was thorough in explaining what was needed and why it was needed prior to just doing the work. It was the garage that handled the warranty on the parts with a local parts store and then adjusted the bill accordingly with various credits given. Overall my experience with this garage was nothing but pleasant... They proved to be compitant, thorough, responsable and fair. Not one part of my experience was negative and I will be going back for further service in the future. It would be foolish to opt to look elsewhere for great service provider when they are fair with pricing, quick and thorough!
Tips
When the time comes for an individual to seek a garage to handle various automotive work only a few tips...
1. Look around for garages and talk to clients if possible. Remember happy customers usually equate to good service.
2. In looking, ask what the hourly rate is and if the mechanics are ASE Certified (I've found certification is not necessary
but a "feather in the cap" of the garage if they are.)
3. Ask what the policy is for that garage on "unforeseen work" and how it's handled.
In conclusion the only thing I wish I had known prior to this previous brake job was of this garage! I would have went here long ago if I had known of them!
